What is 82-0?
82-0 (also written 82and0) is a free browser game where you draft an all-time NBA starting five — one legend from each era — and a simulation projects your record over a full 82-game season. The dream is a flawless 82-0.
How do you play 82-0?
Each round a slot machine lands on a random NBA franchise and decade. You draft one player from that team and era, then repeat for five rounds to fill a PG–C lineup, one player per decade. Once all five are picked, the engine projects your 82-game record.
Is it actually possible to go 82-0?
Yes, but it's very hard. You need a stacked five whose combined scoring, rebounding, assists and defense are elite enough that the projection caps out. Most lineups land somewhere between 50 and 75 wins.
Is 82-0 free?
Completely free. There's no sign-up and no download — you play instantly in your browser. There are no prizes, just bragging rights.
How does the simulation work?
The engine weighs each player's peak per-game stats — points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks — into a single team rating, then maps that rating to a projected win total. It ignores reputation; only the statistical output matters. Missing defensive stats from older eras are estimated fairly.
What are the game modes?
Classic shows every player's stats so you can make informed picks. HoopIQ hides the numbers so you draft on knowledge alone. Team Draft lets you place each player on the court yourself. There's also a Daily Challenge where everyone faces the same five eras.
What is the Daily Challenge?
Every day, everyone is given the same five eras and the same pool of teams. You build the best lineup you can and submit your record to the global leaderboard — no login, just a username.
Is 82-0 affiliated with the NBA?
No. 82-0 is an independent fan project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the NBA, any team, or the NBPA. Player names and statistics are used as factual references only.
Why do some famous players score lower than expected?
82-0 evaluates the specific team-era player entry and the finished five-man roster. A famous player can be less useful if the lineup already has his role covered or if another available player fills a scarce position.
Are the team pages official NBA pages?
No. The team and era pages are independent scouting references for this game. They use factual player names and statistics, but they do not reproduce official logos, uniforms, player images, or team branding.
How should I use the data pages?
Use them to learn which franchise-era pools are strong, which positions are scarce, and where surprising role players appear. They are not meant to be a final historical ranking of every NBA player.
Why are older defensive stats treated differently?
Some older seasons did not record modern defensive categories. The game normalizes missing defensive data so vintage players are not automatically punished just because the historical box score was thinner.
Does 82-0 collect personal account data?
No account is required. You can play without logging in. If you submit a daily leaderboard score, the handle you type and the projected record are stored so the leaderboard can display the entry.
How can I report a correction?
Use the contact page and include the URL, player name, field to review, and the season or source you used for comparison. Useful reports are specific and easy to reproduce.
